Jim originally trained as a footballer and having played professional for Manchester City, Norwich, Blackpool, Northampton, Swindon and Wrexham, music had taken a back seat until more recently.

Due to a current injury, small bars and functions was the beginning of many rat pack style performances. Appearing at the Opera House in Manchester with Cole Page was the very first theatre outing supported by a 22 piece band. Since then recordings with an artist for their album with the record label Babel and various big band projects has led to more time in the studio. More recently an appearance at Tee in the Park in Oswestry performing music on the acoustic stage was a highlight and showcased new bands and artists. Although still on course to play football again, performances can still be found on the jazz scene in Manchester and London.
