Yorkshire born Jayne Tunnicliffe's first taste of showbiz was appearing on 'Bob Says Opportunity Knocks' as a comic poet in 1989, losing out on the clapometer to some child hand bell ringers from Sheffield. Undeterred, she went on to develop her stand up comedy persona Mary Unfaithful, a banjolele bashing brassy blonde with a gob that could blister concrete. She quickly became a favourite headliner on the comedy circuit, as well as regularly supporting comics as diverse as Lily Savage, Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay.
Her first acting role was in a theatre tour of 'Rita, Sue and Bob Too' then in the gritty BBC2 series 'The Cops', followed by 'Clocking Off', 'That Peter Kay Thing', 'Phoenix Nights', 'Lily Live' and eventually 'Coronation Street', where she played Cilla Battersby-Browns best friend Yana Lumb for four years.
An accomplished artist, Jayne had her first solo exhibition in 2007, called Corriecatures, a collection of pop art paintings inspired by 'Coronation Street'. Jayne met her scriptwriter husband Mark Bickerton while working on 'Coronation Street', and they married in Sydney, Australia in 2007. They live in Cheshire and enjoy travelling the world.
