About Us
Theatre Productions UK Ltd is one of Britain’s leading and most innovative production companies. Over the last 10 years, they have worked tirelessly to create a vast repertoire of new plays, musicals, variety and concert based shows. Such productions have proven both popular, commercially successful and have been critically acclaimed in theatres across the UK, as well as Europe and the Middle East. In so doing, Theatre Productions UK Ltd have developed a strong reputation with most of the theatres in the UK. Recently, Theatre Productions won the much coveted trophy for best production in Holland.
World theatre is the lifeblood of Theatre Production UK Ltd. The company’s core philosophy is to appeal to all – men, women, children and theatre-going veterans. Alongside this, we also recognise the importance of new audiences who have not experienced the world of theatre before and always aim to draw in new spectators. We aim to wow our audiences with culturally diverse productions which they will never forget, and to broadcast such productions to a huge selection of stages and spectators.
Such a refreshing, contemporary approach to theatre and entertainment also attracts popular celebrities and international stars such as Lisa Riley, Faye Tozer, Antony Costa and American star Rain Pryor. Most recently, TV stars Sarah Jane Buckley and Maureen Nolan have joined our long-running Over The Rainbow musical, a tribute to the life of Eva Cassidy.
In a hectic world where scripts have to be written, stars
nurtured, theatres booked, sets built and costumes created, Theatre Productions
regards its relationship with theatre managers and venues as key partners
helping to keep the business on track.
The company works alongside established European theatres and concert halls connecting with organisations such as HQ Theatres and Ambassadors Theatre Group. Our aim is to present high quality and truly traditional family productions, working very closely with theatres on budgets and marketing, maximising production values whilst delivering a quality and profitable production.
If the mark of a good production is its reception, then Theatre Productions directors can be proud of the standing ovations and rave reviews their shows have received. In the coming year Theatre Productions intend on returning both their ShangHi Cirque Du Ciel and Over The Rainbow shows due to popular demand.
Set up over 20 years ago by former actor Stephen Leatherland, the company has grown relentlessly and now puts on six major tours a year in the UK, Europe and beyond. Each member of the team brings a strength to the company, from our production manager who works closely with the theatre at all times to make sure shows function smoothly, to the administration team; from casting to costume fittings, to choosing the performers, and to our press and marketing team liaising with regional and local media as well as arranging press call to maximise coverage. We run a strong and hardworking team which aims to produce the best.
With all these activities TPL are unsurprisingly growing to
be a leading player and major force in British theatre.
In an industry where reputation is everything, TPL is such
that they are being approached by theatres – not only to take the shows, but
also to produce shows on the venue’s behalf; for example a pantomime in
Arbroath.
Alongside this, we realise that in difficult times we have
to offer something more. Affordability, wider access to audiences and
quality shows are of the utmost importance. To the theatres and audiences alike
and judging by the contracts of engagement and the advance ticket sales that we
currently have, this strategy is clearly working. Not only will this safeguard
our position in the short-term, this will increase our opportunities for
expansion and stability in the future.
